Get the Longer, Fuller Lashes You Crave with Latisse

Get the Longer, Fuller Lashes You Crave with Latisse

Do you want longer, fuller eyelashes that look flawless regardless of whether you're wearing any mascara? Then you need to consider Latisse.

Latisse is a topical treatment that has been around for nearly eight years and has been shown to change the way that eyelashes grow, leading to more permanent results. Read on to learn more and consider scheduling an appointment at Tate MediSpa to discuss starting the treatment.

What is Latisse?

Latisse is a chemical solution that is applied directly to eyelashes. When used correctly, it has been proven to provide several benefits. Clinical trials have noted that average results showed lashes grew 25 percent longer, 106 percent fuller and 18 percent darker following Latisse treatments.

It's important to note that this is not a cosmetic product. This isn't about making eyelashes simply look different, this process actually changes the way that eyelashes grow and act over time. As a result, Latisse is becoming a popular treatment for those looking for longer, fuller lashes without depending on cosmetics to achieve the desired results.

What's the Science Behind This?

The science is interesting because even the creators aren't sure how it works! Don't let that concern you, though, as this isn't actually uncommon when discovering new drugs and potential solutions. Often a drug will have an unintended side effect that eventually becomes the main focus of a product.

Clinical trials have noted that average results showed lashes grew 25 percent longer, 106 percent fuller and 18 percent darker following Latisse treatments.

Originally, Latisse was part of a drug created to reduce eye pressure for allergy sufferers. When researchers discovered that the experiment reliably increased eyelash length and thickness, they transitioned to the treatment we know today.

Currently, doctors believe that the treatment works by affecting the anagen, or growth, phase of eyelashes. Researchers are continuing to work on exactly how the drug affects growth and what other potential it may have.

Can I Use Latisse Whenever I Want?

Latisse is designed for a single full session. After the session has been completed, you should be able to see the results. If you have any questions about further treatment options, talk to your doctor about the possibilities.

Is It Safe?

Latisse has been approved by the FDA since 2008 and is safe to use. However, there are some circumstances in which people should not use Latisse, usually because of pre-existing eye problems. Some of the solution typically enters the eye, so problems like uveitis, conjunctivitis and long-term ocular hypertension may prevent you from using Latisse. If you have an eye condition, ask your doctor or specialist if it will affect the process.

How Long Does It Take?

A full treatment will take 16 weeks. This treatment consists of multiple applications of the topical solution, which you are responsible for. The full 16 weeks are necessary to help ensure that hair growth continues to be altered for a long enough period, so it's very important that you don't stop treatments once you have begun.

Are There Any Side Effects?

There are relatively few side effects for Latisse. Some people find it creates an itching sensation around their eyes when applied. In rarer cases, the skin around your eyes may be darkened or irritated.
